Background:

Do you understand the details that God put into designing you? I've had long conversations with friends over the past few weeks. This season is leading the best people I know to question their worth, purpose, and contributions to the world. I've mostly heard, "I hate my job!", "What is my purpose if I can't even do my job well?", "What is God's plan for me if I have failed?". Let me tell you a little something; your purpose is independent of the job you chose, or the setbacks that have come your way. By simply waking up, trying your very best, and being kind to someone with your words and actions, you have served God's purpose for you! All that remains are choices...You are God's plan!

“Asase Ye Duru”

This Adinkra symbol called “Asase Ye Duru”, or “The divine Mother Earth has weight”, is a symbol of power, providence, divinity, and a reminder to respect the earth. Asase is in the traditional religion of the Akan, where there exists a duality between the Mother Earth, personified as female goddess, and the divine water, personified as the male creator, God. Earth, as both realm of the dead, and the location for the creation of new life, is a gift to humans. Your existence was purposefully planned and should be regarded as such. Life can get insurmountable at times, leaving some of us feeling like giving up our earthly existence. However, always center yourself in your God and be reminded that you were created not only to serve your purpose, but to enjoy the precious gift of Earth from your creator.

Worry is not my master. I trust in God. His peace guards my heart, guards my mind, and guards my soul in Christ Jesus.
